MARITIME SILK ROAD PORT COOPERATION FORUM

As a platform for open exchange and mutual learning in port development and shipping under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, the MARITIME SILK ROAD PORT COOPERATION FORUM echoes the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the strategy of building world-class ports. It has served the formation of a new development pattern, creating a platform for open exchange and mutual learning in port development and shipping under the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, and promoting the construction of a global community with a shared future for port development and shipping.

President Xi Jinping has put forward the "Belt and Road" Initiative, which, with connectivity as its main thread, will inject new momentum into the world’s economic growth, open up new space for global development, and build a new platform for international economic cooperation. The Forum carries forward the Silk Road spirit of "peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit" and sticks to the objective of "equality, cooperation, mutual benefit, and win-win" and the principle of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits". Initiated in 2015, the MARITIME SILK ROAD PORT COOPERATION FORUM has thrived for seven editions. On October 19, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website announced a list of major multilateral cooperation deliverableSs of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, where Our Time · Our Road · Our Ports—Vision and Action of MARITIME SILK ROAD PORT COOPERATION FORUM, the outcome of the 7th MPF, and the 8th MARITIME SILK ROAD PORT COOPERATION FORUM were listed in “Intergovernmental Cooperation Platform Outcomes” and “International Conference held from 2023 to 2024” respectively.

The objective of the Forum is "equality, cooperation, mutual benefit, and win-win".
