Port of Antwerp-Bruges wants to pursue a sustainable energy policy. To achieve this, we continue to focus on energy-saving measures across all departments. The new goals have been determined and can be found in the new energy policy statement.

Within each center or department, with a significant share of energy consumption or savings potential, we optimize the energy savings process annually. These processes describe the systematic planning, implementation and assessment of energy saving measures that will lead to the following energy savings:

1、Improve the energy efficiency of our own fleet, so that by the end of 2026 their energy consumption will decrease by 2.5% relative to 2023.

2、Improve the energy efficiency of buildings and public lighting so that, by the end of 2026, their energy consumption will decrease by 2.5% relative to 2023 (kWh/m2 -GDD).

3、With bridges and locks, with the current state of technology, the maximum achievable energy reduction has already been achieved and this energy efficiency level is being maintained.

4、Maintain and further develop the energy monitoring system for the monitoring and analysis of energy flows. Also ensuring that the identified deviations are corrected.
